Welcome!

Central Virginia Land Conservancy (CVaLC), a 501(c)(3) private, nonprofit organization, promotes the stewardship and conservation of Central Virginia’s forests, farmlands, waters and other natural and historic resources.

Our region is home to exceptional natural and cultural resources. These include the scenic vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the James River, historic farms, extensive forests, clear streams and abundant wildlife. Yet every day Central Virginia ’s natural beauty is threatened by accelerated and poorly planned suburban sprawl that fragments forests, degrades views, pollutes our streams and devours farmland. Landowners can help preserve the rural character of Central Virginia by placing their land in a conservation easement. Concerned citizens can help by supporting the work of the Central Virginia Land Conservancy.
